SYDNEY – The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Sydney appreciates the talented young pianist from Kendal, Jefri Setiawan, who has made another achievement on the international stage at the Master Piano Institute, Sydney, Australia on Wednesday (30/8/2023).
This young man who was born on March 2, 2006 has again broken the record for memorizing playing the piano with his eyes closed non-stop for the longest time in the world and was successfully recorded at the ABR Icon Awards Top Talent of the Year 2023.
The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, Vedi Kurnia Buana expressed his appreciation for Jefri Setiawan after successfully breaking this record which he was very proud of. “It is a promotion for Indonesia in Australia,” said Vedi.
Consul General Vedi expressed his appreciation to the Head of Delegation ES Margianti (Rector of Gunadarma University), Fasli Jalal (Rector of YARSI), along with other members of the delegation and various parties who have provided support and assistance, so that the record-breaking event could be held well.
Margianti expressed her compassion and pride after Jefri, who is a student at UG Faculty of Medicine, managed to break a record because this success not only broke a world record for Indonesia, it also made a new international history.
Then, Jefri expressed his happiness and thanked the Head of Delegation Margianti, the Indonesian Consul General in Sydney and all parties for their support. Likewise with all parties who have helped a lot to this day and make Jefri’s dream come true in Sydney to break the world record.
Jefri is the holder of 6 world records, namely memorizing 170 songs in reverse order using the piano and blindfolded for six hours non-stop.
Jefri also has various world records, including in March 2021 he managed to play 150 songs on the piano for about 3 hours 45 minutes with his eyes closed. Recorded in two world record books at once, namely the America Book of Records and the European Records Book.
Jefri also succeeded in writing his name on the prestigious Royal Success International Book of Records (RSBIR) world record for the Memorizing Songs While Playing Piano, Blindfolded, Non-Stop category which was held in Hyderabad, India, on 29 February 2020.
