Indra Setiawan has officially joined PSIM Yogyakarta in preparation for the 2023/2024 League 2. This time, the senior winger will strengthen PSIM Yogyakarta’s defense as a striker.
Previously, Indra Setiawan had taken part in a trial match against PSPS in the Banyurejo Tempel field, Wednesday (23/8/2023) yesterday. The Mataram Warriors won with a final score of 3-0.
The score was contributed by Bryan Cesar, Ari Maring and Indra Setiawan. This is nothing new, Indra Setiawan is indeed known as a phenomenal figure who was the top scorer in the 2018 League 2.

Previously, Indra Setiawan defended Mojokerto Putera. Meanwhile, in the 2022 season, he wore the Putra Delta Sidoarjo uniform in League 2. In fact, he was also part of the Persiba Balikpapan squad in League 2.
The name Indra Setiawan himself has been phenomenal among football lovers. The reason is, in League 2 2018, he managed to score 29 goals. Interestingly, 14 of these goals were obtained through penalty spot execution, the action never failed.
Of course, his slick performance made PSIM confident in recruiting Indra Setiawan to become Nyoman Sukarja’s partner in the Mataram Warriors on the front lines. In fact, it is hoped that he will be able to work closely with Alexander Rakic if he is recruited.
PSIM Makassar trainer, Kas Hartadi, revealed that Indra Setiawan’s recruitment was through careful consideration. He admitted that he needed Indra Setiawan’s performance to face the tightness of the upcoming 2023.2024 League 2.
Before Indra Setiawan, PSIM had already recruited Vengko Armedya, the former Persebaya squad in League 1.
