Music group rock British legends Oasis announced on Tuesday (8/27) that they will reunite for a world tour starting in the UK next year, following the end of a 15-year feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.
The group, which contributed to the era of Britpop in the 1990s with a number of their mainstay songs such as “Wonderwall”, “Don't Look Back In Anger” and “Champagne Supernova,” announced on the X platform that they would be holding concerts in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and the Irish capital, Dublin.
“The guns have been silenced. The stars have aligned. The long wait is finally over. Come along. This will not be televised,” Oasis said, giving details of their tour, following speculation and hints circulating about the band's reunion in recent days.
Oasis will kick off their world tour with a two-night show at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4, 2025, before playing six shows at Heaton Park in their hometown of Manchester.
The band will then continue their tour to Wembley Stadium in London on August 2 and 3, Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, Scotland, on August 8 and 9 before moving on to Croke Park a week later.
“Plans are currently being made for Oasis to play concerts outside of Europe next year,” the band said in a statement.
The reunion will come 30 years after Oasis' 1995 album “(What's the Story) Morning Glory?” was released, a commercial success and critical acclaim.
The feud between the Gallagher brothers reached its peak when the pair fought in Paris during the Rock en Seine festival in 2009, during which Liam broke one of Noel's guitars.
The two siblings have not performed on stage together since their band disbanded, but they still often play some of each other's songs. hits from their bands separately. (rs)
