Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday (11/8) reiterated the need for strong air defense amid ongoing deadly Russian attacks.

Russia's latest strike killed a father and his four-year-old son on the outskirts of Kyiv.

In his daily address on Sunday evening, Zelenskyy said: “At all levels, we must continue to inform our partners what is needed to protect Ukrainian space from drone and Shahed missiles, including North Korean missiles. Last night, our forces shot down more than fifty drone Shahed. There were also four ballistic missiles, Russia launched them from the Voronezh region. We documented all the locations where the Russian military launched attacks, including the Belgorod region, the Kursk region and other regions.”

He went on to call for the supply of long-range missiles that can reach deep into Russian territory and reach Russian launch sites.

According to Zelenskyy, his experts have precisely identified the type of missile, and know exactly the region of Russia from which it was launched.

“It is only fair that Ukrainian citizens should be able to respond to this terror in the way necessary to stop it,” he said. (about/after)
