An artillery strike hit a house in the Lebanese town of Chebaa, causing no injuries or deaths.

However, earlier on Monday (29/7), an Israeli attack on the city of Shaqra killed two people and injured three others.

This comes as Israel considers its response to a rocket attack from Lebanon last weekend that killed 12 children and teenagers in a town in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Monday's strikes did not appear to be an Israeli response to last weekend's deadly attacks, but rather more of a routine skirmish.

According to Lebanese state media, on the same day, two people were injured in separate attacks in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military has not commented on the reports.

Since October 8, violence has flared on the border between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.

The Israeli military said the weekend attack on Majdal Shams marked the deadliest attack on civilians in Israel or Israeli-controlled territory since Oct. 7, raising fears of a wider regional war.

Israel accused Hezbollah of a rocket attack on Majdal Shams last week, but Hezbollah, in a rare move, denied any role. (my/jm)
