Suara.com – The Indonesian automotive industry has been asked to produce mining trucks that are suitable for environmental conditions in the country, said the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
Minister Agus said that industry players could start this by making assembly details that have specifications according to mining conditions in Indonesia.
“We encourage domestic industry to immediately prepare truck products that comply with mining specifications. We ask them to at least make an assembly line first,” said the Minister of Industry after the 2024 P3DN Awards Kick Off event in Newsdelivers.com, Monday (12/2/ 2024).
According to him, the reason his party is encouraging the production of mining trucks that have qualified specifications is because this sector continues to experience growth every year.
He assessed that the need for natural resources obtained from mining is quite large, so the tools used must be suitable and also made domestically.
By carrying out assembly first, the mining sector can also make a fairly high contribution to the domestic component level value (TKDN).
“There is a value in TKDN, because the needs that have been expressed are very large. Coal is growing, other commodities in minerals are also growing. I also agree that this is necessary so that our industry is ready,” he said.
Meanwhile, based on data from the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Association (Hinabi), in 2023, heavy equipment production in Indonesia reached 8,066 units.
Meanwhile, the most heavy equipment will be produced in 2022 with a total of 8,826 units. So that on an annual basis (year on year) heavy equipment production fell by 8.61 percent.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) said that the mineral and coal subsector in 2023 will contribute to non-tax state revenue (PNBP) of IDR 173 trillion or 58 percent of the total national PNBP.
