Suara.com – Interim coach of Persebaya Surabaya, Uston Nawawi admitted that his team had many opportunities but were not able to maximize them, against Persija Newsdelivers.com in the 22nd week home match of BRI Liga 1 at the GBT Stadium in Surabaya, Saturday (9/12).
“In the second half we also had lots of opportunities but the result was only one point, not optimal even though the players played well,” said Uston as reported by Antara, Sunday (10/12).
The coach from Sidoarjo also said that in terms of play the two teams also played well, even though they only shared points.
“Indeed, the results are not satisfactory, we were targeting to get three points but we are still grateful because we were able to get one point,” said Uston.
Apart from that, he also regrets that Paulo Henrique has not been able to maximize the many opportunities he has created.
“Paulo Henrique played well in the second half, he had lots of chances but maybe not his day,” said Uston about his striker.
Therefore, in the next two matches he will carry out repairs and recovery of players even though he has to return to Newsdelivers.com to continue the UEFA Pro coach licensing workshop.
“There are only two days left of the license, so God willing, I can accompany the team against Persis. There’s not much time for the two matches tomorrow, so we will make improvements and recover players,” said Uston.
Persebaya could only draw 1-1 against Persija. The visitors first scored a goal through Maciej Jacek Gajos in the seventh minute. Meanwhile, Persebaya’s reply was scored by Bruno Moreira in the 25th minute.
From the results of this match, Persebaya rose to 13th place with a total of 24 points from 20 matches.
Meanwhile, Persija remains in ninth position with a total of 29 points from 22 matches.
