JAKARTA – Foreign media from Vietnam, The Thao 247 highlighted the chaos of supporters in the match between PSIS Semarang and PSS Sleman. In fact, The Thao 247 thinks that Indonesia has once again created a bad image in the eyes of the world after another soccer fan riot occurred.
In that match, host PSIS Semarang managed to achieve a 1-0 victory over PSS Sleman in the 20th match of Liga 1 2023/2024 at Jatidiri Stadium Semarang, Sunday (3/12/2023).
Carlos Fortes ensured that Laskar Mahesa Jenar – nicknamed PSIS Semarang – got full points at home, after scoring a goal in the 45+4 minute via a penalty kick.
The match was marked by chaos between supporters. As a result of the commotion that occurred, five buses carrying PSS Sleman supporters were damaged by the home fans.
Apart from that, the CEO of PSIS Semarang, Yoyok Sukawi received medical treatment. Because his head was hit by a stone and he received eight stitches.
The Vietnamese media also highlighted the commotion between PSIS Semarang supporters and PSS Sleman. The Thao 247 considers that Indonesia has again created a bad image in the eyes of the world, after the commotion between supporters occurred again.
“Indonesian football has once again left a bad image in the eyes of the world with another commotion in League 1,” wrote The Thao 247, quoted Monday (4/12/2023).
Previously, Indonesian football had stolen the world’s attention. Not through achievements, but a riot between supporters that killed 135 people in November 2022.
