Terence Crawford can be beaten according to trainer Angel Garcia who said the undisputed welterweight champion is not a killer type boxer. For this 35 year old man, he appears as an unforgiving and cruel figure.
His actions after the bell rang reflected that. Earlier this year, for the 11th straight time, a Terence Crawford opponent couldn’t make it to the final bell. Even though this is a common occurrence, few people thought that he would beat Errol Spence Jr. a few months ago.
This fight is 50/50 and a punch to the punch fight. However, in the first round, Crawford (40-0, 31 KO) delivered a crushing blow to the former world champion. With all four welterweight championships on his shoulders, Crawford’s already puffed chest is now more prominent, his voice is a little deeper, and the menacing stare he gives his opponents and the media feels more intimidating.
However, while Crawford is, by and large, viewed as the best fighter in the world and a formidable killer in the ring, Angel Garcia doesn’t believe it. The former two-division champion’s father, Danny Garcia, knows Crawford well. “He’s not a killer,” Angel Garcia told AB Boxing News. “He can be defeated too.”
Apart from watching his career, Angel also observed Crawford in the amateur world. In the unpaid ranks, both Crawford and son Angel shared a pair of meetings. Until now, both have campaigned in the same division.
At one point, it looked like the pair would rekindle their rivalry at a professional level, but with Crawford stating multiple times that he was only interested in fighting Saul Canelo Alvarez, Angel has moved on.
For those media observers and fans who continue to praise Crawford in such high terms, Angel believes it is well deserved. However, for those who believe that Crawford can easily breeze past anyone without breaking a sweat, Angel rolled his eyes in disbelief and vehemently disagreed.
