Ducati Accepts All Inputs from Franco Morbidelli and Marc Marquez, Who Listens to the Most?
JAKARTA – Ducati Lenovo manager, Davide Tardozzi, said that his team accommodated all input from two new Ducati riders, Franco Morbidelli and Marc Marquez. Remember, Morbidelli and Marquez are former rival racers from Ducati.
Yes, the two riders were previously rival racers from Ducati. Morbidelli is with Monster Energy Yamaha, while Marquez is at Repsol Honda. But now, they have joined the Italian factory team to take part in MotoGP 2024.
Morbidelli joined Pramac Racing by replacing Johann Zarco. Meanwhile, Marquez went to Gresini Ducati to replace Fabio Di Giannantonio. Interestingly, The Baby Alien – Marc Marquez’s nickname – will team up with his younger brother, Alex Marquez.
The presence of these two new riders has also given Ducati a new perspective regarding the development of their motorbike. Moreover, Morbidelli and Marquez have tested the speed of the Desmosedici motorbike in the post-season test which took place at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, last Tuesday (28/11/2023).
Tardozzi said that Ducati accepted all the points of view given by Morbidelli and Marquez. Later, their input will be scrutinized in more depth by the engineers from the Italian factory team.
“We will evaluate and listen carefully to their (Morbidelli and Marquez) opinions,” said Tardozzi, reported by Motosan, Sunday (3/12/2023).
“Because as I said, we really respect our rivals,” he continued.
Furthermore, Tardozzi emphasized that Ducati continues to make improvements to its motorbike even though it could be said that they currently have the fastest motorbike on the grid. They don’t want to be complacent with the existing conditions because according to them, Honda and Yamaha have not ruled out the possibility of giving them a surprise next season.
“Even though our bike is very competitive at the moment, it doesn’t mean that Honda and Yamaha don’t have things better than us, so it’s natural to listen to two champions like them,” concluded Tardozzi.
