Manchester City Indicted in 115 Cases of Alleged Financial Violations, Trial Held Next Year!
MANCHESTER – Manchester City and the Premier League have agreed on a date to hold a trial for financial violations. It is reported that the trial will begin in the fall of next year.
The Premier League operator charged Manchester City with as many as 115 counts of breaching financial rules. Based on this violation, various kinds of sanctions await Manchester Blue, including being threatened with expulsion from the Premier League.
The allegations in question relate to violations of financial information regulations regarding income, details of coach remuneration, profitability, economic sustainability, and so on. Even worse, Manchester City is suspected of concealing the club’s financial position report.
Apart from those already mentioned, based on investigations that have been ongoing since 2018, Manchester City has faced more than 100 types of accusations. Man City allegedly committed various types of violations from September 2009 to the 2017-2018 season
If proven guilty, Manchester City will be punished with a points deduction, as experienced by Juventus in the 2022-2023 Italian League. However, the bitter thing is, The Citizen – Man City’s nickname – is also threatened with being expelled from the Premier League.
The case that happened to Manchester City was never heard of, because the investigation process was carried out in complete secrecy. However, recently, it was reported that Man City and the Premier League had agreed on a trial date, as reported by the Daily Mail, Thursday (30/11/2023).
The Manchester City and Premier League conference is planned to start in late autumn next year. Autumn in Europe starts from August to October.
Currently, the investigation process is still in the stage of gathering information from witnesses. If planned on time, the final verdict on the violations committed by Manchester City could only come to the hammer in the summer of 2025.
However, this could be delayed, especially if Manchester City insists on appealing. Manchester Blue themselves have claimed that they have irrefutable proof that they are innocent.
Moreover, Manchester City has a track record of escaping sanctions. Thanks to an accomplished lawyer named Murray Rossen, Manchester City won the judicial process at the Court of Sports Arbitration (CAS) and avoided being banned from appearing in the Champions League for alleged Financial Fair Play (FFP) violations.
