Football fans around the world were truly amazed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s honesty when Al-Nassr was held to a draw by Persepolis on the fifth matchday of Group E of the 2023/2024 Asian Champions League at King Saud University Stadium, Tuesday (28/11/2023) early morning WIB . This happened when CR7 refused a penalty when an opposing player fouled him in the forbidden box.
The referee who saw the incident immediately pointed to the spot. However, Ronaldo quickly shook his finger at the gridiron referee and said that it was not a penalty.
“There is no penalty,” said Ronaldo.
The referee then considered Ronaldo’s request by looking at the Video Assistant Referee (VAR). Based on the replay, the referee finally canceled the penalty award.
This incident meant that Al-Nassr had to settle for a goalless draw against Persepolis. But long before Ronaldo was honest on the gridiron, Miroslav Klose refused to allow his goal to be validated.
This incident occurred when Lazio was defeated by Napoli with a score of 0-3 in 2012. But behind that defeat, Blue Eagle fans certainly felt proud of Klose’s honesty when the referee blew the whistle to signal a goal in the fourth minute.
But Klose then rejected the goal. This was because he used his hands to get the ball through the Napoli net.
