Suara.com – Every November 28 is celebrated as Indonesian Tree Planting Day (HMPI). This warning was established to remind people of the importance of restoring damage to forest and land resources through planting trees.
PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, through the Precious Metal Processing and Refining Business Unit (UBPP), is participating in HMPI 2023 activities. In total, Antam has planted 2,000 trees in the East Newsdelivers.com area. In detail, 1,500 trees were distributed throughout all sub-districts in East Newsdelivers.com, and 500 trees were planted in Duren Sawit Sub-district.
This activity was symbolically carried out on the East Flood Canal side, Monday (27/11/2023). The planting activity was attended by the Acting Governor of DKI Newsdelivers.com, the Mayor of East Newsdelivers.com Administration, the DKI Newsdelivers.com Provincial Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Service, the DKI Newsdelivers.com Provincial Parks and City Forest Service, the Head of Duren Sawit District, the Head of Duren Sawit Subdistrict, and local residents.
Several types of productive and protective trees planted in this activity include: Rambutan Matoa, Durian, Avocado, Mango, Soursop, Jamaican Guava, Tabebuya, and Mahogany.
Antam’s Director of Operations and Production, Hartono, explained that the tree planting activity is one of the Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs (TJSL) which focuses on nature conservation. This TJSL program is carried out as a concrete form of the Company’s efforts to encourage environmental sustainability, in line with the synergy of Lestari and Harmoni through collaboration with the DKI Newsdelivers.com Provincial Government.
“Apart from that, this activity provides positive benefits in the environmental sector, namely reducing the level of abrasion and carbon emissions,” said Hartono in his press statement on Tuesday (27/11/2023).
Hartono explained that this activity is a sustainable program that will be implemented in stages in 2023 by ANTAM UBPP Logam Mulia based on reforestation practices with urban farming in East Newsdelivers.com.
In 2022, ANTAM through UBPP Logam Mulia will provide urban farming facilities, vertical gardens and preservation of endemic plants around its operational areas.
This year, in an effort to achieve net zero emissions by 2060, ANTAM is collaborating with the DKI Newsdelivers.com Provincial Government to plant 1,000 productive trees under the Becakayu Toll Road, Duren Sawit Village on April 28 2023.
Until November 2023, the Company has distributed 3000 trees consisting of protective plants, productive plants, vegetable plants and ornamental plants.
“We hope that the synergy program with the Government can continue to be sustainable through greening and community empowerment actions that prioritize positive impacts on the environment, social and economy of the surrounding community,” concluded Hartono.
