SEMARANG – CEO of PSIS Semarang, Yoyok Sukawi, is very disappointed with the postponement of the away match against Persebaya Surabaya in the 20th week of Liga 1 2023/2024. He regretted it because his team had prepared very thoroughly for the match.
The team nicknamed Laskar Mahesa Jenar was supposed to play away against Persebaya at the Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium, Gresik, Sunday (26/11/2023). However, the match had to be postponed. This is based on an official letter from PT. New Indonesian League (PT. LIB) as league operator with number 933/LIB-KOM/XI/2023 on Friday (24/11/2023).
The letter explains that the match which was scheduled to be held on November 26 2023 at 15.00 WIB has been postponed. It was also explained that the postponement of the match was still unknown until the specified time.
Yoyok also really regrets the postponement of the match, in fact he is surprised that at a time like now there are still matches that have to be postponed. “Of course I’m very surprised that it’s still postponed today. Even though PSIS is ready to face the match,” said Yoyok, as quoted on the official PSIS website, Saturday (25/11/2023).
Nevertheless, Yoyok accepted the decision gracefully. However, he really hopes that the latest schedule will not interfere with the PSIS year-end holiday schedule. “Hopefully the new schedule will not interfere with the year-end holidays for official players,” he hoped.
For your information, Persebaya as the host has actually received a permit from the Gresik Regency Government as well as a recommendation from the police. However, the chaos that occurred after the Gresik United vs Deltras Sidoarjo match in the 2023/2024 League 2 continuation on November 19 meant that the permit was revoked.
After that incident, Persebaya has also explored the possibility of using the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT). The consideration is that the GBT Stadium was last used as a venue for the U-17 World Cup on November 21. However, in the end the match had to be postponed because PSSI had not been able to give permission to use the stadium for the match against PSIS.
