Suara.com – The Change Coalition’s presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, apologized for the absence of Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Muhammadiyah Open Dialogue with Candidates for National Leaders at the Muhammadiyah University Surabaya Campus.
Prabowo also explained the reason for Gibran’s absence.
“Today I apologize, brother Gibran Rakabuming Raka cannot attend because there is another event at the same time in East Java, but the organizer is Nahdlatul Ulama,” said Prabowo, starting his speech, Friday (24/11/2023).
“So this country, Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah is stable, the country is stable, something like that,” continued Prabowo.
Prabowo apologized again in front of Muhammadiyah circles present at the At Tauhid Tower Auditorium, Muhammadiyah University Surabaya.
“So I apologize, Mas Gibran. Every time you want dialogue, I think Mas Gibran will definitely want to meet you all,” said Prabowo.
Gibran did not accompany Prabowo who was present at the Muhammadiyah Open Dialogue with Candidates for National Leaders at the Muhammadiyah University Surabaya Campus. The Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) explained the reasons.
Prabowo-Gibran TKN Secretary, Nusron Wahid, said that Gibran’s absence was due to another event. Nusron emphasized that Prabow and Gibran shared the task of attending two different important events simultaneously today.
It is known that Gibran will attend the PP Nahdlatul Ulama Teachers Association (Pergunu) event at the Amanatul Ummah Islamic Boarding School, Mojokerto, East Java.
“NU and Muhammadiyah are important components in the Islamic landscape rahmatan lil alamin in Indonesia, so it is impossible to deny each other. “Therefore Prabowo and Gibran share duties,” said Nusron in his statement, Friday (24/11/2023).
Prabowo and Gibran, said Nusron, had to divide tasks.
The reason is, today’s two agendas are equally important.
“We apologize to the people who want both to attend at the same time, but for us these two events are equally important and this division of tasks is the middle way,” said Nusron.
Previously, the General Secretary of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, Abdul Mu’ti, announced Gibran’s absence first. He conveyed the news via his X account.
“I received information from Mas Nusron Wahid this afternoon. Mas @gibran_tweet could not attend the PP Public Dialogue invitation. Muhammadiyah with the presidential and vice presidential candidates at @umsby, Friday 24 November at 09.00-11.00. “The dialogue will only be attended by Pak @prabowo,” he wrote.
