Director Yandy Laurens is back with his latest film entitled Falling in Love Like in the Movies.
This film tells the story of Bagus (Ringgo Agus Rahman), a screenwriter who writes the story of his former school crush, Hana (Nirina Zubir), whose husband only left her four months ago.
While recording Hana’s sadness in a scenario he made, Bagus is also determined to make Hana fall in love again.
Different from previous films, in this film Yandy Laurens uses a black and white theme for 80 percent of the duration.
TAKE THE QUIZ
Not without reason, Yandy admitted that the black and white theme was chosen to describe the sadness felt by the main female character, Hana.
Going deeper, Yandy explained that this film was inspired by the story of her mother who lost her husband and child. Through this film, Yandy tries to express his love for his mother.
“So from the start, I created this idea to tell about how to love someone who has lost. At my age, I want to share more love with my mother. Because my mother lost her father when I was in middle school and lost my older sister, she became a widow and lived in sorrow. ,” said Yandy Laurens at a press conference for the film Falling in Love Like in the Films which was held at Epicentrum XXI, Friday (24/11).
“And why is the idea black and white and the character is a widow, I want to understand whether or not the mother has another chance, at least for herself, to allow herself to love again, to be loved again,” he continued.
The film Falling in Love Like in the Movies will premiere on November 30. This film also stars Dion Wiyoko, Sheila Dara Aisha, Alex Abbad, and Julie Estelle.
