JAKARTA – Modernization of farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen is one of the focuses of the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate (capres-cawapres) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD if they are elected later. The couple with serial number 3 wants farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen to be more prosperous. This is reflected in their vision and mission which focuses on the theme ‘Towards a superior Indonesia, moving quickly to create a just and sustainable maritime country’.
In their vision and mission, Ganjar-Mahfud is committed to increasing the exchange rate for farmers, fishermen and livestock breeders, with a trade policy approach that supports domestic production.
This increase in the level of welfare will be achieved by stopping the practice of land conversion, thereby ensuring that fertile and productive land is allocated to small farmers and agricultural laborers. In addition, they will strengthen fair and sustainable spatial management.
Khudori, a food observer from the Indonesian Political Economy Association (AEPI), highlighted the importance of paying attention to working capital for farmers in order to improve their welfare, including fishermen and livestock breeders. Therefore, he emphasized the need for future governments to massively voice the provision of capital for farmers, fishermen and livestock breeders, with easy conditions and low interest rates.
“Business capital with easy requirements and low interest from the government is very important,” said Khudori in his confirmation on Monday (20/11).
Not only that, the vision and mission also include a mission to support farmers and fishermen with modern equipment to help the products they produce. With a well-managed budget and equipment that keeps up with the times, Indonesia’s agricultural potential can develop.
Here are 3 modern agricultural technologies that can be applied!
1. Transplanter Planting Machine
Innovations in agricultural technology, especially in transplanter planting machines, are recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture’s R&D (Research and Development). This machine is designed to create optimal distance between rice plants during the planting process.
By applying the jajar legowo concept from East Java, this technology can increase rice production by up to 30%. The use of transplanters not only makes maintenance easier for farmers, but also provides significant efficiency.
