MOSCOW – Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said United States (US) President Joe Biden’s latest opinion piece for the Washington Post once again highlights the essence of Washington’s security doctrine, namely serving America’s interests at the expense of others.
“The US makes itself safer by pouring money into its own military industry and starting wars on other continents,” Medvedev said on Sunday (19/11/2023) in a post on X.
Medvedev called it “the core of American security doctrine.”
“That’s why our commitment to Ukraine today is an investment in our own security,” Biden said in his article published on Saturday.
Medvedev, who now serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, responded to this by saying, “The US basically considers money and blood to be a good investment.”
“How very American. “There is no comment,” he stressed.
“Others, of course, don’t matter,” said the former Russian leader, commenting on an article in which Biden once again reiterated US support for Ukraine and Israel.
The US leader also believes that Russia and Hamas fighters based in Gaza should not be allowed to do what they want.
“Out of great tragedy and upheaval, great progress can be made,” Biden wrote. He claimed, “The US is an important country that has a leadership task.”
