Suara Denpasar – Bima Sakti’s U-17 Indonesian National Team left for Newsdelivers.com from Surabaya after being confirmed as eliminated from the U-17 World Cup.
Bima Sakti failed to bring the U-17 Indonesian National Team to the next round because in the third match, their team lost to Morocco with a final score of 3-1.
Reporting from the PSSI page, the defeat to Morocco meant that the Indonesian U-17 National Team’s chances of qualifying for the round of 16 had to depend on matches in other groups, because only 4 teams were taken from the third best ranking.
Unfortunately, the Indonesian U-17 National Team will certainly not qualify after Mexico beat New Zealand 4-0 and Burkina Faso beat South Korea 2-1.
If the match between South Korea and Burkina Faso is a draw and Mexico versus New Zealand is a 0-0 draw, Indonesia still has hope of qualifying for the round of 16.
Bima Sakti also apologized for its failure to bring the U-17 Indonesian National Team to advance to the round of 16.
“We apologize to all Indonesian people for not qualifying for the last 16 of the 2023 U-17 World Cup. Thank you for all the prayers and support given to us,” said Bima Sakti, quoted from the PSSI website.
Bima Sakti added that the Indonesian U-17 National Team players will be prepared for the U-20 Team coached by Indra Sjafri.
“The children of the Indonesian U-17 team have a bright future and their potential is extraordinary. God willing, these players will be prepared for the Indonesian U-20 team next year with coach Indra Sjafri, who incidentally will take part in various international tournaments,” he added.(*/Ana AP)
