The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) stated that Eddy Hiariej had been named a suspect about 2 weeks ago or around October. Eddy Hiariej and 3 other people were named suspects. However, the KPK has not revealed this case in detail.
This case began when the Chairman of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Sugeng Teguh Santoso complained to the Corruption Eradication Commission about the alleged gratification of IDR 7 billion to Eddy through his personal assistants, YAR and YAM. It is suspected that the flow of funds was related to a request for assistance in legalizing the PT CLM legal entity by the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Previously, Eddy Hiariej had visited the KPK several times when the case had moved to the investigation stage. However, Eddy assessed that the IPW report against him and his two personal assistants was tendentious or tended to be slanderous. Now that he has been named a KPK suspect, Eddy Hiariej has reportedly not been able to be contacted.
