Iraqi National Team Loses Smart Winger Ahmed Farhan in 2026 World Cup Qualification
JAKARTA – The Indonesian national team received good news ahead of the first match in Group F of the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Asian zone. The Mesopotamian Lions – the nickname of the Iraqi national team – will lose their reliable winger, Ahmed Farhan, due to injury.
The match between the Indonesian and Iraqi national teams will take place at the Basra International Stadium on Thursday (16/11/2023). Even though they are considered the underdog team because of the difference in ranking and playing at their opponent’s home ground, the Indonesian National Team will still try to perform as well as possible.
Losing Ahmed Farhan is a loss for Iraq in their efforts to achieve positive results in the first two matches of the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone against the Indonesian and Vietnam national teams. The 24-year-old, who plays for Al Shorta SC, is known as an intelligent winger with good speed and technique.
