JAKARTA – The Indonesian national team will compete in the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Asian zone. Joined in Group F, the Garuda squad will visit Iraq’s headquarters first on the first matchday on November 16 2023.
Looking ahead to the important match against Iraq, the Indonesian national team is determined to achieve positive results to maintain their chances of qualifying for the next phase. However, in the midst of preparations there were several players who were doubtful about appearing.
They include Marselino Ferdinan (KMSK Deinze), Elkan Baggott (Ipswich Town), and Ivan Jenner (FC Utrecht).
On the one hand, Marselino and Ivan experienced problems before the match against Brunei Darussalam some time ago. Meanwhile, Elkan suffered an injury after the Indonesian national team won 6-0 over Brunei in the first leg of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian zone.
If these three players cannot appear in the match, Shin Tae-yong may make a number of changes to the starting eleven. The following is the prediction for the Indonesian national team’s line up against Iraq.
Indonesia vs Iraq National Team Line Up Prediction
In the match against Iraq, let’s say Shin Tae-yong uses a 3-5-2 formation. In the goalkeeper sector, Nadeo Argawinata could be the main choice.
Without the presence of Elkan Baggott, the defense sector will be guarded by three combinations of young and senior defenders, namely Jordi Amat, Fachrudin Aryanto and Rizky Ridho. Moving a little further forward, Shayne Pattynama and Asnawi Mangkualam will each fill the wing positions and be tasked with assisting in attack and defense.
Turning to the middle sector, several players such as Marselino and Ivan Jenner are doubtful. Instead, the three midfielder slots can be occupied by Marc Klok, Rachmat Irianto and Ricky Kambuaya.
Meanwhile, in the attack sector, there will be a combination of Ramadhan Sananta and Dendy Sulistyawan. Sananta with good body posture will duet with Dendy who has speed and agility.
