GAZA – The Israeli military has gone crazy in its war against Hamas in Gaza, Palestine. Zionist forces have bombarded the region killing 704 people in the last 24 hours.
Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra on Tuesday said it was the highest death toll in a day since the war began last October 7.
In a statement, the ministry said a total of 5,791 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli bombardment of Gaza since October 7, including 2,360 children. “Around 704 people were killed in the last 24 hours alone,” he said, as quoted by Reuters, Wednesday (25/10/2023).
The Israeli military said it killed dozens of Hamas militants overnight while striking more than 400 of the group’s targets.
However, the Israeli military continued, it needed time to destroy the Palestinian resistance group which carried out a deadly cross-border attack that shocked Israel on October 7.
Meanwhile, UN agencies have been pleading and “kneeling” for emergency aid to be allowed unimpeded into Gaza, saying that more than 20 times the current deliveries are needed to support the Palestinian population after two weeks of bombardment by the Israeli military.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres pleaded for civilians to be protected, voicing concern about “clear violations of international humanitarian law” in Gaza.
As international aid agencies warned of a humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the small and impoverished region, one of the most densely populated places in the world, French President Emmanuel Macron flew to Israel.
Macron told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that France stood “shoulder to shoulder” with Israel in its war with Hamas but that the Jewish state should not fight “without rules”.
Netanyahu said Israel would try to protect civilians while ensuring they “no longer live under the tyranny of Hamas”.
