GARUT VOICE— It looks like it won’t be long before the people of Garut will be able to enjoy the international standard stadium they are proud of on Jalan Proklik, namely the Gelora RAA Adiwijaya Stadium, which is targeted for completion and can be used in 2024.
For your information, before starting construction in 2021, the Garut Regency Government had first conducted a comparative study at the Maguwoharjo Sleman Stadium which is of international standard. What is implemented at the Maguwoharjo Stadium will be applied to the RAA Adiwijaya Stadium.
The initial budget for this stadium is estimated at IDR 25 billion. The construction of the RAA Adiwijaya Stadium itself will be carried out in stages with a total budget of IDR 50 billion.
In fact, all the funds for building the stadium that Garut residents are proud of came from the Garut Regency regional budget and expenditure income (ABPD), aka without any funding from the West Java Provincial Government or the central government.

Apart from that, there are aquatic arenas that are FINA (International Swimming Federation) certified and reportedly there are only four in Indonesia apart from the GBK Newsdelivers.com Stadium, Newsdelivers.com Rawamangun Sports Facilities and Papua PON Stadium.
RAA Adiwijaya Stadium has a spectator capacity of up to 25,000 people using single seats. The size of this stadium’s football field refers to FIFA standards, namely 105 meters long and 68 meters wide.
The RAA Adiwijaya Stadium design itself was designed by the Toher Group consulting company. If we look at the design side, it is predicted that this stadium could cost up to IDR 300 billion.
Almost the same as most stadiums in Indonesia, the RAA Adiwijaya Stadium is also equipped with an athletic track and an elliptical or oval-shaped spectator stand area. The grass that (will) be used for the field is the Zoysia Japonica type which is FIFA Standard grass.
The design of this stadium adopts a modern-traditional concept—seen by the typical ornaments from West Java, especially Garut, in the form of Garut Batik motifs that circle the outside of the stadium building.

There is also a Totopong ornament or monument which is a typical Sundanese headband in the entrance area of the stadium building. Apart from that, this stadium has a “Space Frame” roof that surrounds the entire stand with a circumference of 20,000 square meters.
The choice of the name RAA Adiwijaya as the name of this stadium is a form of appreciation or respect for the first Regent of Garut, namely Raden Adipati Aria Adiwijaya who ruled from 1813 to 1831.
PT. Mirtada Sejahtera KSO and PT. Boanerges Putra Utama are the two contractors working on the RAA Adiwijaya Stadium construction project.
To date, the RAA Adiwijaya Stadium construction process has entered stage 3, namely the construction of the western stands has started since June 2023 and is targeted for completion by the end of December 2023.
This phase 3 development requires a budget of around IDR 34 billion which includes land acquisition costs and construction costs. This phase 3 development project also includes the construction of an indoor and outdoor basketball stadium.
