Suara.com – The Indonesian national team will immediately start preparations for an important match in the 2026 World Cup Qualification. On October 9 2023, they will meet Brunei Darussalam in Palembang, South Sumatra.
Arianto, a talented assistant coach from the Indonesian National Team, explained that preparations for this match would involve the best players, including those who play abroad, who are often referred to as “abroad” players.
Currently, the Indonesian National Team has ten “abroad” players who have become the backbone of the national team.
They are Asnawi Mangkualam who plays in South Korea, Pratama Arhan who has a career in Japan, and Jordi Amat and Saddil Ramdani who have made achievements in Malaysia.

Apart from that, there are also players such as Ivar Jenner and Rafael Struick who play in the Netherlands, Marselino Ferdinan and Sandy Walsh who play for the national team in Belgium, Elkan Baggott who performs brilliantly in England, and Shayne Pattynama who plays for the Indonesian national team from Norway.
The first match in the 2026 World Cup Qualification Asia Zone will start in the FIFA Matchday period 9-17 October 2023.
This means that both local clubs and foreign clubs will be required to release their players so they can join the Indonesian National Team.
In the near future, the Indonesian National Team will face Brunei Darussalam in two important matches in the first round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Asia Zone.
The first match will take place at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, Palembang, on October 12 2023. The Indonesian national team will face a challenge from Brunei Darussalam at home.
