East Kalimantan Representative Makes a Surprise at POBSI Pool Circuit 2023 Series V, National Billiard Players are Alert
BALIKPAPAN – The representatives of host East Kalimantan (Kaltim) have made a surprise in the preliminary round of the POBSI Pool Circuit 2023 Series V which took place at RAnD Poll & Lounge, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. Deputy Chairman II Binpres PB POBSI, Achmad Fadil Nasution, also predicted that they could make things difficult for national players in the round of 16.
Yes, hosts East Kalimantan are unexpectedly able to compete in the group phase which will be held on 1 and 2 October 2023. As a result, they passed eight representatives to the round of 16 of the POBSI Pool Circuit 2023 Series V.
The eight players are Arman D’Ale, Roy Ezar, Stanley, Allen, Merry, Median, Dandy and Dani. Meanwhile, the other eight billiards players who qualified for the round of 16 consisted of various other provinces, namely, Andri (Riau Islands), Ismail Kadir (South Sulawesi), Johan Dewa and Kholik (South Kalimantan), Amelia (East Java), Roy (Central Sulawesi) , Irwanto (Southeast Sulawesi) and M Beni (West Java).
Fadil also assessed that the preliminary round for the POBSI Pool Circuit 2023 Series V was exciting and balanced. He expressed this when contacted by MNC Portal Indonesia, on Monday (2/10/2023)
“The preliminary round was quite exciting and balanced, where the round of 16 consisted of 8 athletes from the host city of East Kalimantan and 8 athletes from other provinces,” said Fadil.
Of the 16 players, there are two national players, namely Andri (Kepri) and Ismail Kadir (South Sulawesi). The two billiards players come from the JRX club.
In the round of 16, Andri will meet the host’s representative, Stanley. Likewise, Ismail will be challenged by another host representative, namely, Dani.
Fadil also predicts that it is not impossible for the two host representatives to make another surprise. Although according to him, from a technical perspective Andri and Ismail were clearly better.
“From a technical perspective, national athletes are still superior. “However, the host’s enthusiasm has changed predictions for the qualifying round matches in the first 2 days,” he said.
