TAIWAN – Taiwan’s AH-64 Apache helicopter was also present at the National Defense Knowledge Tour 112 air exhibition which was held recently at Hukou Army Base, Hsinchu Regency.
Quoting Taiwan News, Friday (29/9), around 110,000 people participated in the event. Not only did it feature army demonstrations, the agenda also featured a number of Taiwan’s mainstay military equipment, including the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter.

Taiwan AH-64 Apache Helicopter Specifications
For the Apache AH-64, Taiwan is known to have one of the newest variants, namely the 64-E series. This helicopter is commonly known as the Apache Guardian. Quoting the Military Today page, this helicopter from the United States first entered service in 2011. At that time, its main user was the US Army.
During its development, Washington DC continued to design the latest versions of the Apache AH-64. Of the many, one of them is the AH-64E variant which is also operated by Taiwan.
The Apache AH-64E is equipped with a General Electric T700-GE-701D engine. Different from its predecessor, this component is capable of producing up to 1,994 shp of power.
Another improvement is the use of a new composite rotor. The provisions were designed to withstand attacks from 23 mm anti-aircraft guns. Turning to performance, the Apache AH-64E has a maximum speed of 300 km/hour. Meanwhile, the range is around 476 km.
This type of attack helicopter is operated by a crew of two. The equipment includes advanced components such as new sensors, avionics, and features that make it operate better at night.
In terms of weapons, the Apache AH-64E is equipped with a 30 mm M230 cannon with 1,200 rounds of ammunition. Apart from that, there are also four hooks that can carry various types of missiles to support operations.
