HANGZHOU – Ramadhan Sananta couldn’t do much when the Indonesian National Team faced Uzbekistan at the Shengcheng Sports Center Stadium, Thursday (28/9/2023). In the last 16 match of the 2022 Asian Games, the Garuda Muda squad lost with a score of 0-2.
The Indonesian national team was actually able to match Uzbekistan’s game for two rounds. Considering the score was still goalless, the referee decided to continue the match into extra time.
Disaster finally came in extra time. The Indonesian National Team conceded two goals. Sherzod Esanov scored both Uzbekistan goals.
Until 120 minutes into the match, the score of 2-0 in favor of Timur Kapadze’s team had not changed. Uzbekistan is certain to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2022 Asian Games football event.
This defeat is certainly very painful for the Indonesian National Team. Moreover, Indra Sjafri deliberately brought Ramadhan Sananta to Hangzhou, China, to increase the attacking power of the front line of the Garuda Muda squad.
However, Ramadhan Sananta was not able to give his best game in the last 16 of the 2022 Asian Games. There were three things that stood out from the Persis Solo players in this knockout round.
First, Ramadhan Sananta received a yellow card. Second, the player number nine was caught in an offside position when the free kick ball flew straight into the Uzbekistan goal.
Third, Ramadhan Sananta made Indra Sjafri bow down in gratitude because the coach with the thick mustache thought that it was an equalizing goal for the Indonesian national team. However, the referee annulled it because the 20 year old player was already in an offside position.
