HANGZHOU – The Indonesian national basketball team suffered a crushing defeat to South Korea in the first match of Group D of the 2022 Asian Games. The team coached by Milos Pejic surrendered with a score of 95-55.
Playing at Zhejiang University Zijingang Gymnasium, Tuesday (26/9/2023) afternoon WIB, the Indonesian national team had to struggle to suppress attacks from South Korea from the start of the first quarter. Kaleb Ramot Gemilang et al were quite far behind 11-3.
Even though they are quite far behind, the Red and White squad continues to try to catch up. Unfortunately, these efforts did not bear sweet fruit, because they actually fell behind 8-20 in the first quarter.
Entering the second quarter, the Indonesian National Team started the game quite well. Point after point was achieved even though South Korea was still quite strong in defense. In the end, Indonesia still had to recognize South Korea’s toughness in the second quarter with a score of 31-50.
In the third quarter, South Korea got even worse by dominating the game. The attacks they launched were still difficult for the Indonesian players to suppress. As a result, the Red and White team again had to fall behind in the third quarter with a position of 44-72.

Being left behind by a score of 44-72 made it very difficult for the Indonesian squad to keep up in the final quarter. South Korea increasingly dominated the match. The players from Ginseng Country seemed free to score point by point. They succeeded in winning in the fourth quarter with a score of 23-11 or a total score of 95-55.
Next, the Indonesian National Team will face an opponent that is no less strong on the second matchday of Group D, namely Japan. The match is scheduled to take place on Thursday (28/9/2023).
