Suara Sumatra – The video narrated by residents being mugged by a number of men armed with sharp weapons (sajam) went viral on social media (medsos).
The video was uploaded by the Instagram account @tkpmedan. The incident is said to have occurred on Jalan Halat, Medan, in the early hours of Sunday 24 September 2023.
In the video seen on Tuesday (26/9/2023), initially the victim was riding a motorbike passing by the location.
Suddenly the victim was grabbed by a number of men riding motorbikes and holding sharp weapons. The victim was seen driving to the left.

The victim was seen hitting a fence. Suddenly the victim fell along with his motorbike.
The victim then ran away, leaving his motorbike behind. The perpetrator then took A’s motorbike and left the location.
In the narrative, it is stated that at that time the victim and his friend were riding in a car and were going home. While on Jalan Halat at the intersection of Gedung Arca, the victim was grabbed by several men for an hour.
“At that time the victim and his friend were riding in a car and were going home and when they passed the Halat Gedung Arca intersection, the victim was grabbed by several people they didn’t know and were carrying a prayer knife,” wrote the post.
“The perpetrators threatened the victim and forcibly took the victim’s BK 6304 AKG automatic motorbike,” he continued.
