HANGZHOU – Alfeandra Dewangga commented on the opponents the Indonesian National Team will face in the last 16 of the 2022 Asian Games. The PSIS Semarang defender claims that he does not care who the Garuda Muda squad will face.
The Indonesian national team qualified for the last 16 of the 2022 Asian Games through the best third place ranking. In the knockout round, Indra Sjafri’s troops will face the winners of Group C.
Currently, Uzbekistan occupies the top position in Group C with three points, followed by Hong Kong with one point. This means that the opportunity for the Indonesian National Team to face Uzbekistan in the last 16 of the Asian Games is wide open.
However, the decision regarding who the Indonesian National Team will be against will only be determined on Monday (25/9/2023). Regarding the possibility of Uzbekistan being the opponent of the Indonesian U-24 National Team, Dewangga answered calmly.
Dewangga emphasized that the Garuda Muda Squad is not picky about the opponents it will face. “It’s normal, football is fifty-fifty. Whoever the opponent is, we have to face it,” said Dewangga.
Dewangga was actually quite disappointed because he felt that the Indonesian National Team’s game was not optimal. However, he promised that the Garuda Muda squad would improve before appearing in the last 16 of the 2022 Asian Games.
“The results were not good, the game was not optimal, for the next match in the last 16, hopefully we can be better,” concluded the 22 year old player.
