HANGZHOU – Indonesia won its first medal at the 2022 Asian Games. The medal was won in rowing. Yes, the women’s rowing team won a bronze medal in the Women’s Light Weight Double Sculls event.
The Indonesian teams appearing in this number were Chelsea Corputty and Mutiara Rahma Putri. They both finished in third place in the race which took place at the Fuyang Water Sports Center, Sunday (24/9/2023) morning WIB.
The duet of Chelsea and Mutiara finished with a time of 7 minutes 17.64 seconds. This Indonesian pair was less competitive than the hosts China and Uzbekistan.

China successfully won the gold medal after recording a time of 7 minutes 6.78 seconds. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan won second place or a silver medal. The duet of Luizahkhon Islomova and Malika Tagmatova recorded a time of 7 minutes 16.49 seconds.
Nevertheless, of course this is good news for Indonesia. The reason is, they successfully contributed the first medal to the Red and White team fighting at the 2022 Asian Games.

For your information, the 2022 Asian Games will take place from 23 September to 8 October 2023. There are 31 sports that the Red and White Team will participate in in the 19th edition of the Asian sporting event.
