The prestigious downhill cycling championship initiated by 76Rider entitled 76 Indonesian Downhill 2023 will take place on September 30 and October 1 2023. The Ternadi Bike Park track, in Kudus, Central Java, is 2.3 kilometers long with a track width of 1.5 meters, and is the location for a fast competition for elite Indonesian downhillers to win the 76th Indonesian Downhill 2023 title.
Ternadi Bike Park is an international standard downhill track and is the best in Indonesia. The track at the foot of Mount Muria is also registered with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in category C1, which means the circuit with the most extreme obstacles, both in terms of elevation (altitude) and in terms of the track that downhillers will face.
With a C1 level circuit, whoever achieves the fastest time at Ternadi Park will get 40 points in the UCI ranking. Then, the second fastest time gets 30 points and the third fastest gets 20 points.
76Rider representative, Agnes Wuisan said, hundreds of downhillers will be looking for maximum points to secure podium positions from the 10 categories being competed, namely Men Elite, Women Elite, Men Junior, Men Master A, Men Master B, Men Master C, Men Sport A, Men Sport B, Men Youth and Women Youth. Because only one series will be held this year, he predicts that the downhillers will give their best performance at Ternadi Bike Park in order to win the championship title.
“76Rider strives to continue to present competitive championships for extreme sport lovers in Indonesia, especially downhill. We have chosen Ternadi Bike Park in Kudus to be the only series for the 76 Indonesian Downhill this year, considering that the track is in the C1 category and is the best in Indonesia ,” said Agnes Wuisan in her press statement, Thursday (21/9/2023).
“Even though it’s only one series, the competitive atmosphere already feels very hot and fierce. Moreover, a number of top downhillers have confirmed themselves to compete to conquer Ternadi Bike Park. We hope that this championship will further increase the competitiveness of national downhill racing, especially in Kudus and its surroundings,” he added. .
Abdul Hakim, who last year was the champion of the 76th Indonesian Downhill 2022 Series 2 in Kudus in the Men Elite category, admitted that he was ready to fight to defend his title and become champion this year. However, the man who is familiarly called Jambol admits that Ternadi Bike Park is not an easy track to conquer. Physical preparation and a thorough strategy are mandatory if you want to be the fastest.
“The main thing is of course physical preparation. Because the Ternadi Bike Park track is quite long and there are many obstacles that are difficult to pass, especially the rock garden. So it takes a lot of practice and physical preparation and maintaining stamina so that I can perform at my best. I am optimistic about achieving maximum results even though there will definitely be competition in “This year it’s tighter, because there’s only one chance for a draw,” said Jambol, who is under the 76Rider DH Squad team.
