TEHERAN – Al-Nassr beat Persepolis with a score of 2-0 in the Asian Champions League Group E phase match at Azadi Stadium, Wednesday (20/9/2023) early morning WIB. Cristiano Ronaldo, who marked his debut, failed to score a goal.
Al-Nassr’s victory was not easy. Even though statistically Ronaldo et al were able to dominate the game with ball control of 59 percent compared to 41 percent, Faris Najd failed to break through the hosts’ goal in the first half.
Al-Nassr was only able to break through Persepolis’ goal after the hosts played with 10 players. The disaster occurred after Milad Sarlak violated Ronaldo.
Referee Ilgiz Tantashev from Uzbekistan immediately awarded Sarlak a second yellow card in the 52nd minute. Superior in number of players, Al-Nassr had more freedom to intimidate the opponent’s defense.
Sure enough, 10 minutes later, Al-Nassr’s goal tap opened. It was Abdulrahman Ghareeb, who successfully listed his name on the scoreboard.
In the 72nd minute, Mohammed Qasem closed Al-Nassr’s winning party to 2-0. Until the final whistle sounded, the 2-0 victory for Al-Nassr had not changed.
