GARUT VOICE— The Garut Regency Government (Pemkab) checked the quality of rice which is an aid program from the central government, Tuesday (19/9/2023) at the Garut Regency Bulog Warehouse.
This is done to ensure that the quality of the rice that will be distributed to the community is in good condition and safe for consumption.
Deputy Regent of Garut, Helmi Budiman, said that the Regency Government together with other stakeholders had sorted or selected and directly checked the rice into the medium or premium rice categories.
After checking, it can be confirmed that the rice that will be distributed to residents is new rice.

“Earlier, it has been weighed, it has been selected, whether this is medium or premium rice, this is new rice,” said Helmi, who directly checked the condition of the rice together with other relevant officials at the Garut Regency Bulog Warehouse.
His party also directly supervises all stages before packing and packing the rice until it is ready to be distributed to the poor in Garut.
Bulog officials also said that the rice that will be distributed to the people of Garut is medium quality rice. The grain condition is complete and not powdery.
Helmi and other related officials have also ensured that the rice is odorless and only has a distinctive rice odor, has no lice and is suitable for public consumption.
The rice, which is aid from the central government, will be distributed three times, namely in September, October and November to
poor people of Garut Regency.

This September, 2,750,045 kilograms of rice are ready to be distributed to meet needs this month. The same amount or around 2750 tons of rice will be distributed again in the following month.
Helmi also said that each head of family (KK) would receive 10 kilograms of rice which would be distributed within two weeks to all sub-districts in Garut Regency.
“Each family gets 10 kilograms of rice, and we will distribute it to all sub-districts within two weeks,” said Helmi.
It is also hoped that this rice assistance from the central government can ease the burden on the poor people in Garut Regency, numbering around 275,045 beneficiary families (KPM) in meeting their food needs.
