PURWOKERTO.SUARA.COM – The clean water crisis and drought that hit several areas in Banjarnegara Regency have concerned a number of groups.
PGRI Banjarnegara Regency is no exception, which works together with BPBD and PMI to help distribute clean water in areas affected by drought.
Deputy chairman of PGRI Banjarnegara Regency, Turohmat, said that distributing clean water to the community is an annual PGRI activity, because every time the dry season enters, many areas experience a clean water crisis.
“This is in accordance with the request of the Chairman of PGRI Central Java, namely that district/city PGRI administrators always monitor surrounding areas that have difficulty getting clean water,” he said.

He further explained that the distribution of clean water in several areas affected by drought is PGRI’s commitment to be present together among communities in need by synergizing with relevant stakeholders.
In line with this, PGRI Secretary 2 Slamet Purwanto said that the distribution of clean aor was carried out in several areas affected by drought in several sub-districts.
“To begin with, we are scheduling clean water distribution activities for 4 consecutive days in several areas affected by drought,” he said.
He explained that the clean water distribution schedule according to plan was Monday (18/9) in Kaliajir Village with 6 tanks and Petir Village with 4 tanks, Tuesday (19/9) in Kaliwungu Village with 3 tanks, Karanganyar Village with 1 tank, and Jalatunda Village with 6 tanks.
Furthermore, Wednesday (20/9) in Wanadri Village 2 tanks, and Kebondalem Village 4 tanks, Thursday (21/9) for residents of Kalitengah Village 2 tanks.

“Apart from involving the PGRI Task Force, we also involve the PGRI Branch administrators whose areas are given assistance in collaboration with BPBD and PMI, basically everyone works together,” continued Slamet.
Meanwhile Babinkamtibmas Purwanegara Bripda. M. Nur, who accompanied the provision of clean water, expressed his gratitude to PGRI Banjarnegara Regency for providing clean water assistance to residents who experienced drought for three months.
“Hopefully with this assistance the residents can survive until the rain comes, and wait for the next delivery of clean water,” he said.**Alw
