PURWASUKA – The KSPSI Brigade as a wing of the Indonesian Workers’ Union (SPSI) organization which has formed BRIGANA (Disaster Response Brigade) took part in the Purwakarta, Subang, Karawang and Indramayu Volunteer Gathering (PURWASUKAI) held by the Purwakarta K3L Action, for two days from the 16th -17 September 2023 at the Cibungur football field, Purwakarta.
Brigana members who participated in this volunteer meeting were representatives from Purwakarta, Subang and Karawang, 12 Brigana members including, Jajang AS (Karawang), Suhatril (Karawang) who is the National Brigana Coordinator, Yuhadi (Subang), and Indra Riana (Subang ).
Meanwhile, Brigana representatives from Purwakarta included Karsono, Helen Setiyaningtiyas, Ricky Suprianto, Didin Nuryadi, Ayi Hasan Ashari, Hendri Kosasih, Dede Irawan, and Hendrik.
This event is very positive and adds to our knowledge and insight as Brigana members in the field of disasters, apart from that we are given an understanding of logistics, search and rescue, public kitchens and also about health and evacuation when a disaster occurs.

“We take the knowledge side, namely providing provision in disaster management, which is divided into several clusters, and increases our understanding and knowledge in the field of disasters,” said Karasono as the Brigana KSPSI Coordinator for the West Java region.
Karsono also hopes that after this volunteer meeting, especially the Brigana SPSI members themselves can understand and understand how to prevent and overcome disasters, because they have gained the knowledge and basics at this volunteer meeting.
“We hope that Brigana members in particular can realize this and implement it in the future so that they are ready to prevent and deal with disasters.”
Meanwhile, according to Helen Setiyaningtiyas, who is the National Coordinating Administration for the SPSI Brigade, who is also a participant in this volunteer meeting, said that Brigana members who take part in this volunteer meeting will be able to understand and understand the basic knowledge about disasters.
“Hopefully after participating in this volunteer gathering activity, Brigana members will be able to understand better how and what to do, both in preventing disasters before a disaster occurs and when a disaster occurs in their respective areas,” he concluded.
