What is Al-Qomariyah and Syamsiah Reading?
Muslims must be familiar with the science of tajwid, the law of reading nun mati and mim mati. However, there is another reading law that must be understood, namely the law of alif lam.
Alif Lam law is the provision of reading alif lam mati followed by one of the hijaiyah letters. The alif lam law also depends on the hijaiyah letters that follow the dead alif lam letters. The alif lam law is divided into two, namely Alif lam Al-Qomariyah and alif lam Syamsiah.
The difference between Al-Qomariyah and Syamsiah lies in the provisions for reading Alif Lam Mati. Al-Qomariyah law is a provision for reading alif lam mati clearly or izhar. Lam sukun in the reading is read clearly.
While the rule of Alif lam Syamsiah is to read the alif lam mati by adding or adding to the letters Syamsiah. In Alif lam Syamsiah’s alif lam there is no movement of bread, but in Alif lam Al-Qomariyah’s alif lam there is movement of bread.
The meaning of Al-Qomariyah?
Al-Qomariyah comes from the word qamar which means moon. In the science of recitation, Alif Lam is compared to a star. Al-Qomariyah is also one of the sciences of tajwid which is important to learn how to pronounce letters according to their makhraj and give them their rights and characteristics with the aim of avoiding errors in the verbal pronunciation of the letters in the Qur’an.
So the letters Al-Qomariyah are likened to the moon and stars which will remain visible when exposed to moonlight. Until the letters Al-Qomariyah that meet al will still be visible and read clearly.
Al-Qomariyah letters consist of 14 letters, namely alif (ا ), ba’ (ب), jim (ج), ha (ح), kha (خ), ’Ain (ع), Ghain (غ), Fa (ف ), Qaf (ق), Kaf (ك), Mim (م), Wawu (و), Ha (ه) and Ya (ي).

Differences in Al-Qomariyah and Syamsiah Readings
So, the differences between Al-Qomariyah and Syamsiah readings are as follows:
Judging from the letters of the two reading laws, the differences are clear. In the law of reading “Al” Qomariyah, letters that meet Al are called Al-Qomariyah letters, while in the law of reading “Al” Syamsiyah, letters that meet “Al” are called Syamsiyah letters.
The difference between the two reading laws is clear. Al-Qomariyah is read clearly (izhar) and is not affected by the letters that meet it, namely the Al-Qomariyah letters which are 14 in number, whereas in Al-Syamsiyah, Al is not read clearly (izhar) but disappears and dissolves into the letters -Letter Syamsiyah who met him.
To make it easier to identify the differences between the two reading laws, you can look at the form of writing in each pronunciation in the two laws. The law of reading Al-Qomariyah, “Al” is marked with the harakat of breadfruit. While “Al” Syamsiyah, “A'” is not marked with the harakat sukun, but with the harakat tasydid.
