KOWLOON – Indonesian women’s singles badminton player, Putri Kusuma Wardani, had to end her journey in the last 16 of the Hong Kong Open 2023. The woman was stopped by her opponent, the top women’s singles player from China, Han Yue.
The match took place at the Hong Kong Coliseum, Kowloon, Hong Kong on Thursday (14/9/2023) morning WIB. The battle lasted fiercely for three games with a final score of 12-21, 21-18 and 19-21 in favor of Yue.
The first game started with an aggressive attack from Putri Kusuma Wardani, who tried to force Yue’s defense. However, Yue managed to turn things around with his aggressive play. A combination of fast hitting and effective tactics helped Yue control the match, and he led 11-7 at the interval in the first game.
In the second game, Putri Kusuma Wardani improved her game. He played more carefully and managed to collect a lot of points at the start of the game. Putri maintained her momentum with smashes and difficult shots that put her ahead 11-8 at the interval in the second game.
The second game ended in victory for Putri Kusuma Wardani with a score of 21-18 after she managed to maintain her playing pattern.
However, in the deciding game, Han Yue played aggressively again. Even though Putri struggled to catch up, Yue won the match with a score of 21-19 in the third game.
Even though Putri Kusuma Wardani had to leave the 2023 Hong Kong Open after losing in the round of 16, her performance showed her potential and skills as a competitive women’s singles player.
