Suara.com – The German national team succeeded in winning the 2023 Basketball World Cup or FIBA World Cup title after defeating Serbia in the final match, Sunday (11/9/2023) evening local time.
Playing in Manila, Philippines, the German national team beat Serbia with a score of 83-77 in the final.
Germany, unbeaten throughout the tournament and appearing in the final for the first time, broke Serbia in the third quarter.
Serbia tried to bounce back in the fourth quarter, but Germany was able to hold them back to ensure they brought home the Naismith trophy.

Dennis Schroder became Germany’s top scorer with 28 points, followed by Franz Wagner with 19 points.
Germany also beat the United States in a dramatic semifinal.
“We are world champions, we are unbeaten, we won all our games,” said Germany guard Maodo Lo.
“We started with a tough group, we were able to continue to build strength, we achieved big wins throughout the tournament and then we faced the United States in the semifinals. In my opinion, we deserve this world title,” he added.
Serbia was aiming for their first title as an independent country, unfortunately they had to lose small forward Ognjen Dobric due to injury after less than three minutes of play.

Dobric suffered an injury from falling hard while attacking. He was seen on the sidelines after receiving treatment, but did not return to play.
