SEMARANG – Three players from PSIS Semarang have received a call to join the U-24 Indonesian National Team training camp (TC) which will compete in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The three players in question are Luthfi Kamal, Adi Satryo, and Haykal Alhafiz.
The summons of these three players has been authorized through an official letter from PSSI with number 3507/AGB/530/IX-2023. Lutfi, Adi and Haykal will follow TC in Jakarta until September 15 before they leave for China.
PSIS Semarang CEO, Yoyok Sukawi, gave a positive response to this call. However, PSIS management asked for leniency so that the three summoned players could return to strengthen Laskar Mahesa Jenar, nicknamed PSIS Semarang, in the match against Persis Solo which will take place at the Manahan Stadium on Saturday (16/9/2023).
“We fully support this summons and there are no issues. However, we request that the three summoned players return to the team a few days before the match against Persis Solo to prepare themselves, and after that, they can rejoin the National Team. Good luck, Adi, Haykal, Luthfi,” said Yoyok, as quoted from the official PSIS Semarang website on Sunday (10/9/2023).
Not only players from PSIS Semarang who received calls for the U-24 Indonesian National Team TC, but also their coaching staff, namely assistant coach Eko Purdjianto and physical trainer Alex Aldha Yudi.
Therefore, Yoyok explained that Muhammad Ridwan would temporarily fill Eko Purdjianto’s position. While the coach’s duties will be carried out by an assistant physical trainer, Rifqi Hadiyanto.
“In terms of trainers, the position of trainer Eko will be temporarily replaced by coach Ridwan, and the position of physical trainer Alex will be filled by an assistant physical trainer, Rifqi,” explained Yoyok.
For additional information, the 2022 Asian Games are scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8, 2023. However, the sport of football will start earlier. The U-24 Indonesian national team will compete in Group F with North Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Taiwan. The Garuda squad will start their struggle in this event against Kyrgyzstan on September 19 2023.
