JAKARTA – The results of a recent study reveal the 10 most dangerous cities in the United States (US). And New York the moon is one of them.
The increase in crime in the city nicknamed the Big Apple in recent years is no longer an open secret. But apparently, there is a city that is more ancient than New York.
Security Gauge, a crime risk assessment platform, has collected data on violent crimes such as murder, rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault from 18,000 law enforcement agencies in cities and towns across the US with at least 25,000 residents.
The agency then ranked the 100 most crime-prone residences among every U.S. city with at least 25,000 residents or more.
The following is a ranking of the 10 most dangerous cities in the US as quoted from the Daily Mail, Sunday (10/9/2023).

Bessemer ranked top in 2023 with 33.18 violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
According to Security Gauge, residents of America’s most volatile city have a one in 30 chance of being victims of violent crime.
With a population of approximately 27,000, the crime rate in Bessemer is much higher than other cities with similar demographics.
It ranked particularly poorly in terms of physical violence and property crimes, as well as motor vehicle theft.
Founded in 1887 by coal magnate Henry DeBardeleben, Bessemer became an industrial center as a center for ore mining, iron smelting, and iron and coke manufacturing.
Its rapid growth throughout the 20th century earned it the nickname ‘Marvel City’ – but development peaked in the 1970s amid a decline in railway carriage production and steelmaking.
