SURABAYA – Turkmenistan national team coach, Mergen Orazov praised the performance of the Indonesian national team. According to him, the Red and White squad is a team that has very good quality.
Turkmenistan also had to give up two goals without reply when facing the Indonesian national team in the September 2023 FIFA Matchday match at the Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Friday (8/9/2023) evening. A pair of goals for the Indonesian National Team were scored by Dendy Sulistyawan (19′) and Egy Maulana Vikri (90+1′).
The victory over Turkmenistan made the Red and White rise to 147th position in the FIFA world ranking, after gaining an additional 5.41 points.
Mergen Orazov did not hesitate to give praise to the Indonesian National Team. Even though he failed to get positive results, he was satisfied with the games of Turkmenistan and Indonesia.
“The quality of the players from a team, the Indonesian team is a very good team,” said Mergen Orazov in a press conference after the match, which was quoted on Saturday (9/9/2023).

“Turkmenistan have also analyzed Indonesia’s strengths and weaknesses, so they played quite satisfactorily,” he continued.
Furthermore, Mergen Orazov said that the final solution was the reason Turkmenistan lost despite having many opportunities. He hopes to be able to face the Indonesian National Team again.
“I’m satisfied with the team’s development, but the problem is finishing or scoring goals in front of goal. But I’m satisfied with the team’s play and hopefully there will be an opportunity to play again,” he concluded.
