The Iraqi Football Federation (IFA) has added strength ahead of appearing in the 2023 Asian Cup. Danilo Al-Saed is the newest player to strengthen the Young Lions of Mesopotamia.
Previously, PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir officially announced that the Indonesian National Team would have naturalized players. Jay Idzes, who is currently defending Venice in the Italian Serie B, will undergo a naturalization process.
The Indonesian National Team’s steps to strengthen the team for the 2023 Asian Cup were also followed by Iraq. Danilo Al-Saed is the latest player who will soon play for Iraq in the 2023 Asian Cup.
Currently, Danilo Al-Saed has Swedish citizenship. However, he has Iraqi and Chilean blood, which allows him to defend the Young Lions of Mesopotamia through the naturalization process.
Danilo Al-Saed will be a threat to the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup. This is because he is currently defending Sandefjord, a top caste club in the Swedish League and has appeared in 20 matches in the 2023/2024 season, contributing seven goals and two assists.
Previously, Iraq had completed the process of naturalizing four players for the 2023 Asian Cup. In fact, the players taken were Grade A in Europe because they played in the Blue Continent’s top leagues.
Andre Alsanati is a winger who currently plays for IK Sirius, Sweden’s highest caste club. Then, Masies Artien plays as a central defender while strengthening SV Spakenburg in the third caste of the Dutch League.
Then, Josef Al-Imam was defending the giant Swedish League club, Malmo FF. Then, Ali Almosawe plays as a winger and is currently pursuing a career at Boldklubben AF, the highest caste club in the Danish League.
The Indonesian national team will face Iraq in the first Group D match of the 2023 Asian Cup. The match will take place at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Ar-Rayyan on January 15 2024.
