Authorities at Milan’s Linate airport were forced to suspend operations for about an hour due to a problem on the runway, which cut off electricity.
As a result, all incoming and outgoing flights from this airport were suspended until the technicians were able to correct the problem.
According to official reports, there were also some of those flights that were moved to land at the other airports of Malpensa and Orio al Serio.
The cause of the problem is thought to have been a short circuit in a connecting pit, which forced the technicians to turn off all lights on the track, preventing the situation from worsening.
