Suara Sumatra – To prepare for the competence of League 2 for the 2022/2023 season, PSMS Medan will hold a trial against Gumarang FC.
The trial match will be held at the TD Pardede Stadium, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) on Saturday 9 September 2023 afternoon.
PSMS Medan coach Ridwan Saragih admitted that there were several goals he wanted to achieve in the trial match. In addition to strengthening the team ahead of League 2, his party wants to monitor how far the adaptation of the four players who have just joined is progressing.
“The last trial before League 2 is for strengthening the team. We also want to see whether the four new players can adapt to our philosophy. We are also looking for options in the next week for the first match,” he said in a written statement, Friday (8/9/2023 ).

It is known that the four new PSMS players are midfielder from Korea Kim Jin-sung and striker from Brazil Matheus Souza. Meanwhile, the other two players are midfielders Ridho Syuhada and Dwiki Arya.
“We will look at Dwiki Arya in the next few days. Basically there are two defensive midfielders, one of them is Dwiki, although there are other players who can be in that position,” he said.
He said that one of the reasons his party chose Gumarang FC in the trial match was as part of the anticipation to maintain the condition of the players ahead of the competition.
“There is definitely a risk of injury during trials. For this reason we prepare the players, their physical condition, their fitness. We are looking for a standard field with good quality, the TD Pardede Stadium,” he said.
