CHANGZHOU – Indonesian women’s singles badminton player, Putri Kusuma Wardani, stopped in the last 32 of the China Open 2023. Playing at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, Wednesday (6/9/2023) morning WIB, Putri KW had to acknowledge the greatness of Akane Yamaguchi with a score of 12- 21, 18-21.
Putri KW’s defeat meant that Indonesia had no representative in the women’s singles event. Even though she failed to advance to the next round, Putri KW admitted that she could read the playing pattern of the second seed from Japan.
According to Putri KW, Akane Yamaguchi is a strong and tenacious badminton player, and has a game pattern that keeps the shuttlecock out of her reach. He had time to read his opponent’s playing pattern, unfortunately at the end of the second game he felt tired.
“Akane is a very strong and tenacious type of player. Earlier she tried to keep the ball away from me, but I tried to limit it. I feel today, I was pretty good at reading her balls. But it was in the final points of the second game “I felt a little breathless,” said Putri KW in a PBSI release, Wednesday (6/9/2023).
The 21 year old badminton player also said that his physical condition, playing patterns and mentality were getting better. In fact, Putri KW felt that losing to Akane Yamaguchi made her not feel down because she could perform well.
“But so far I feel my physical condition is improving, apart from that my playing pattern is slowly returning. And the most important thing is that my mind and mentality are getting more ready. Actually, I like to think about losing, but if the game is good, losing doesn’t make me feel down,” explained he.
Meanwhile, defeat at the China Open 2023 made Putri KW extend her bad record when she faced Akane Yamaguchi. The reason is, he lost 15-21, 11-21 in the last 16 of the Indonesia Open 2023.
