US Secretary of State Antony Blinken began his visit to Kiev in a gesture that many experts consider a support for Ukraine’s counteroffensive against Russian forces, which is entering its fourth month, as the victories have been small.
During his two-day visit, Blinken will spend the night in Kiev, the first for a senior official since the start of the war, and is expected to announce a new aid package worth more than $1 billion.
Blinken will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, as well as civil society figures.
