TANGERANG – The Association of Retired Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia (Pepabri) has held a rotating golf tournament for the President of the Republic of Indonesia as part of the 64th Birthday celebration. This event was officially opened by the General Chair, Agum Gumelar.
Pepabri’s anniversary falls on September 12 every year. As a first step in celebrating this moment, a lively golf tournament was held at the Modern Golf & Country Club, Tangerang on Thursday (31/8/2023).
The participants began to gather at 06:00 WIB in the morning in the field and the event started with breakfast together. After that, an opening ceremony was held which involved taking photos with the tournament participants.
Agum Gumelar and several other representatives started by hitting golf balls at the same time. The interesting thing is, the ball that was hit emits blue smoke.
The opening ceremony continued with the release of a banner reading ’64th Pepabri Anniversary 2023′ into the air. The banner was tied to several gas balloons, and Agum Gumelar cut the bottom hook so that the banner floated into the sky.
Participants wearing red and white clothes then went to their respective fields using golf carts. They are divided into several different groups.
In this tournament, participants play nine holes at the Modern Golf & Country Club. The winner with the best record will receive a trophy as an award.
Apart from fighting for trophies, participants also have the opportunity to win car prizes. On some holes, car prizes will be awarded to those who are able to do a hole in one, that is, get the ball into the hole in one stroke.
