WASHINGTON – Smartphone company from Taiwan ASUS confirmed its commitment to continue production of Zenfone series smartphones. This answer was given regarding the news of the closing of the Zenfone line which was reported by the Taiwanese media earlier this week.
In a short statement, ASUS said directly that the Zenfone 10 will not be the last device in the Zenfone lineup. The company will continue the product line.
“We want to answer the rumors that the ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of this series after the ASUS Zenfone product line will be closed. This is not true. We will continue our two main telephone business product lines, ROG Phone and Zenfone,” ASUS stated as quoted by SINDOnews from the 9t05google page, Tuesday (29/8/2023).
“ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please refer to our Q2 earnings for more information. Please look forward to our 2024 product lineup,” continued the ASUS statement.
The latest report states that ASUS will not completely abandon the smartphone market, although the company will end its Zenfone line and merge those resources into the ROG Phone. ASUS has directly said that the two product lines will continue, and there have even been leaks of the 2024 product line.
This response definitely shuts down the rumor, although it’s important to remember that it’s unlikely that the company will confirm the rumor. Especially with the Zenfone 10 product which is only a few weeks from its launch in the United States.
LG, for example, has steadfastly denied rumors that one of its last smartphones has been shelved and that its smartphone business as a whole is in trouble just weeks before it’s all over.
“Even so, we hope that ASUS will survive. It’s a shame to lose players in the smartphone game, and especially players who are able to overcome market gaps like ASUS,” wrote the 9to5google page.
